Fairway Lincoln & Ruth's Chris Steak House

From Humble Beginnings In 1965, Ruth Fertel, a single mother, took a huge risk by mortgaging her home to buy Chris Steak House in New Orleans. Despite numerous challenges, she transformed the restaurant industry with her innovative approach to hospitality.

After a fire destroyed the restaurant in 1976, Ruth renamed it "Ruth's Chris Steak House," creating the iconic name. Her ingenuity extended to a unique 1800-degree broiler, which became a hallmark of her steaks.

Ruth's Chris expanded quickly, opening its first franchise in 1976 and growing into the world's largest fine dining chain. By 1997, Ruth's Chris was a leader in upscale dining, and in 2005, it went public on Nasdaq under the symbol RUTH. Today, the restaurant operates in 21 countries.
